Hi, I’m Amber Plummer, a dedicated Reading & Literacy Tutor based in Fountain Valley, CA. I help children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade build the foundational literacy skills they need to become confident readers, writers, speakers, listeners, and thinkers.
I believe children thrive when they receive intentional, targeted instruction and when parents have the knowledge and tools to support their learning at home. That’s why my 12-Week Literacy Growth Program combines individualized instruction, ongoing progress monitoring, and meaningful parent collaboration.
Rather than simply providing more reading practice, we identify where a child is struggling, uncover foundational skill gaps, and provide targeted support to help them make meaningful progress. My goal is not only to strengthen literacy skills, but also to build the problem-solving skills and confidence that help children become more independent learners.
With more than 16 years of experience in youth development through the Boys & Girls Club—including leading an Early Grade Literacy Program—I understand that every child learns differently. I bring that experience into each tutoring relationship, working collaboratively with children and families to create a supportive learning experience tailored to each child’s needs.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me reading, photographing nature, or hiking. I look forward to partnering with you to help your child grow as a confident, capable learner.
